Eman Abdul Atti, believed to be the world's heaviest woman once, had a restful first day at the Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi, sources at the hospital said.

After such a long and eventful journey she was placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the hospital.

"A team of 20 specialist are looking after her," said a senior hospital official. These include intensivists, dieticians, physiotherapists, speech therapist and psychologists among others .

"It is just a day into her stay here and we are going easy on her. We do not want to change anything without a proper review. A meeting of the special team is due to be held on Saturday to decide the short and long term strategy that we will put in place," said the official.

Meanwhile, Eman's sister Shaima Selim told Gulf News, "Eman is very happy to be in the UAE. She expressed her happiness by waving at the nurses from the ICU," said Selim.

Abdul Atti will be moved to her special room in a few days. She continues to have her special liquid diet that is calorie controlled and nutritionally balanced that is fed to her through a feeding tube.
