Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Sunday received the new faculty of the University of Sharjah.

He urged them to provide useful knowledge for students to qualify them for their careers and future. He said that the university is keen to provide a stable and secure environment for teachers to help them perform their job well.

Dr Shaikh Sultan dedicated a collection of precious scientific manuscripts to the Sharjah International Foundation for History of Arab and Muslim Sciences. The manuscripts, collected by Shaikh Sultan during his visits to many countries around the world, are considered the most precious and valuable manuscripts in the world.

Dr Shaikh Sultan presented the manuscripts to the board members of the foundation, in the presence of Dr Humaid Majoul Al Nuaimi, director of the University of Sharjah, and a number of the university’s members of the Board of Trustees.

He underlined the important role the foundation will play in providing evidence and introducing scientific findings established by Muslim scientists that contributed significantly to promoting science and knowledge throughout the world, emphasising the deep-rooted scientific progress made by the Islamic civilisation.

The foundation will provide the best intellectual and scientific services in highlighting the scientific heritage of the Islamic civilisation and the establishment of a specialised library for Arabs and Muslims.
