Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturdayday visited the Dubai International Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition at Wafi Mall..

Organised by the Dubai Culture, the exhibition features nearly 140 paintings spanning classical Arabic calligraphy as well as modern style calligraphy, which highlights the important role of integrating this art form, which is a part of Arabian heritage and culture with modern artistic expressions.

Shaikh Mohammad viewed many paintings and decorations created by Emirati and Arab calligraphers, as well as paintings by calligraphers and artists from Islamic and European countries. He admired the beautiful paintings and their fantastic designs and decorations.

Shaikh Mohammad reiterated his unlimited support for all cultural activities that help consolidate the authentic Arabic culture, especially among the younger generations, so as to enhance their adherence to their mother tongue, the language of the Holy Quran.

Shaikh Mohammad was accompanied by Mohammad Ahmad Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council, Abdul Rahman Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Chairman of Dubai Culture, and other senior officials.
