Dubai: A huge art installation, adding to the continuing series of artistic events of Dubai Art Season, is now on display at Dubai International Airport.

The dome-like piece, now in terminal three, is made up of street cones, intricately positioned to create a visionary fragment of artwork.

Dubai Airport will be partnering with Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), who launched the Dubai Art Season initiative and brought the installation, to create more opportunities for artists to display their creations.

Dubai Art Season strives to preserve the aspects of Emirati heritage by nurturing local talents to enhance the city’s cultural diversity and social cohesion through a diverse selection of events within Dubai.

Lubna Al Shamsi, project leader of Dubai Art Season and Sikka Art Fair, said Dubai Culture is committed to providing platforms for international and local art enthusiasts by bringing new forms of public art to the city.

“Through our collaboration with Dubai Airports, we are underlining the culture and arts of the city to people from all over the world. Our aim is to showcase the rich Emirati culture to visitors and provide them with a glimpse of the cultural experience that awaits them in the city,” she said.
