Dubai: Visitors to Majid Al Futtaim’s malls have been invited to participate in the first life-size version of Pictionary to support a cause that involves helping underprivileged children.

In collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent, the initiative will see the best sketches drawn by players during the game turned into 50 stuffed toys to be gifted to less fortunate children, organisers have said.

The popular board game, which involves drawing and guessing, is now at Mall of the Emirates and the City Centres at Deira, Mirdif, Me’aisem and Al Shindagha and will also give shoppers a chance to win prizes.

“The idea of launching this initiative was to create great moments for everyone and also to give mall visitors a chance to contribute to the happiness of others,” said Mohammad Al Jasmi, manager of Mirdif City Centre, told Gulf News during the launch of the initiative.

He said drawings will be chosen daily and the best ones will be turned into stuffed toys by the end of the initiative on May 30.

The game involves teams of two, an ‘artist’ and a’ guesser’, with a maximum of four teams playing on the board at the same time. The guesser in the team needs to figure out the word being drawn by the artist in less than 40 seconds. The faster the word is guessed the more points the team earns.

The team that collects the most points after two rounds will be handed a mall gift card worth Dh500. Players can also receive instant prizes if the dice they rolled while playing the game lands on a sponsored square.

Al Jasmi said that that any mall visitor who shops for Dh300 and above can exchange the receipt at the customer service desk for a token in order to play the game.
