Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, yesterday (Sunda) opened the Arab Heritage Centre in the University City, Sharjah. Upon his arrival, Dr Shaikh Sultan was received by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Central Department of Finance, Abdullah Mohammad Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Culture and Information Department, and a number of officials and members of diplomatic corps in the country. Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, yesterday (Sunday) opened the Arab Heritage Centre in University City, Sharjah.

Dr Shaikh Sultan was received by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Central Department of Finance, Abdullah Mohammad Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Culture and Information Department, and a number of officials and members of diplomatic corps in the country.

Dr Shaikh Sultan unveiled a commemorative plaque for the centre, which will be affiliated to the Sharjah Heritage Institute. He toured the centre’s facilities which include four halls representing to the four regions of the Arab world: the UAE and Arab Peninsula, Nile Valley and the Maghreb, and Levant and Mesopotamia divisions. During the opening ceremony, folk songs and dances were performed.

Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, praised the significant support of Shaikh Sultan to the institute in various fields, pointing out Sharjah Heritage Days, which embodies his tireless follow-up and support.
