Soil survey unearths Stone age arrowhead
A flint arrowhead dating back to Late Stone Age or Neolithic period has been discovered near an oilfield in Abu Dhabi city.
Abu Dhabi: A flint arrowhead dating back to Late Stone Age or Neolithic period has been discovered near an oilfield in Abu Dhabi city.
The arrowhead measuring abut 3cm was found south of the Sahil oil field, 120km south west of the city during a soil survey undertaken by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD).
The arrowhead was discovered by Rafique Punathil, a field assistant with the team from GRM International, undertaking the Abu Dhabi Emirate Soil Survey, managed by EAD.
