Shaikh Majid attends the opening of the Gulf Film Festival

Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has attended the opening of the first ever Gulf Film Festival.

Dubai: Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has attended the opening of the first ever Gulf Film Festival.

The five day festival began with the world premiere of “Four Girls'' by Bahraini filmmaker Hussain Abbas Al Hulaibi.

Several stars from the GCC graced the red carpet, including Kuwait's famous actors Saad Al Faraaj, Ibrahim Al Harbi, Heba Al Dore and Zahra Arafat. Haifa Hussain and Anwar Ahmed from Bahrain, Qatari Abdul Aziz Jassim and Oman's Ibrahim Al Zadjali and Saleh Za'al.

“Four Girls'' tells the story of four struggling young women from different cultural backgrounds who unite to solve their financial crisis.

The Gulf Film Festival will take place between April 13 to 18 at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Center at Mall of Emirates.

Entry to all screenings is free of charge.
