Abu Dhabi: The eighth edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (Adihex) saw the return of one of the event's staples, the Saluki Beauty Competition at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec).

The four-day event is held under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers' Club, and organised by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (Adach).

"This is the first time that I participated in the competition and I'm very surprised that I won. Azil is my only Saluki and he was a gift from my friends. I would definitely try again next year… it would be great if I won first place again," Ahmad Salam Al Tunaiji, who is originally from Sharjah, said.

Azil, the winning Saluki, was chosen among the eight competing dogs in the Sous based on his overall score.
