New directors for Culture and Arts Authority
The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has announced the appointments of Michel Schindhelm and Scott Desmarais as Director of Culture and the Director of Strategy and Business Development respectively.

Dubai: The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has announced the appointments of Michel Schindhelm and Scott Desmarais as Director of Culture and the Director of Strategy and Business Development respectively.
Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman, Managing Director of the Authority, said: "Both Schindhelm and Desmarais bring a wealth and breadth of cultural knowhow from around the world."
A cultural consultant, writer, dramatist and theatre expert, Schindhelm brings 18 years of experience managing some of Europe's most respected theatre companies, including a stint as CEO of the world's largest opera group, the Stiftung Oper in Berlin, from 2005 to 2007. He was also CEO of Theatre Basel for 10 years.
Desmarais has advised leading global corporations, governments and cultural institutions in Paris, London, Buenos Aires, New York, Los Angeles and other cities worldwide.
For the past four years, Scott has been Managing Director of the Desmarais Group, a international strategy consulting group.
