Residents will be able to witness the making of the Middle East's largest painting over a period of ten days, the unique artwork will be auctioned off once completed.

The 70 metre by 1.5 metre canvas was inaugurated on Thursday at the Al Qasba Canal where Shahin Norouzi, an experimental /neo-expressionism painter, is participating in the Art Scroll View initiative.
Art Scroll View is a networking initiative to promote Arab talent and cultural awareness, where the audience will have the opportunity to interact with the artist every day from 7pm to midnight.
International attention
"The event is bound to widen the horizons of all visitors regardless of whether they are serious art lovers or not," said Marwan Jasem Al Sarkal, Chief Executive of the Al Qasba Development Authority.
Scroll View is a form of painting in a much larger scope than the viewer's perspective. In order to comprehend this piece of work, the viewer has to move along the painting.
Once the painting is completed on May 31, it will be cut in pieces and auctioned off to the public, therefore transforming it into another form of art that can be shared between many people. This idea is unique as it is being done for the first time in the world, according to organisers.
"We are committed to supporting year-round activities throughout the community, with a number of initiatives still in the works. Scroll View will deepen appreciation for the arts, contributing to the evolution of the rich cultural fabric of the UAE," said Mahshid Zamani, Chief Executive of Caspian Events, which helped launched the project.
The project intends to attract international attention with the aim of also bringing talented musicians, particularly from the Arab world, and uncovering hidden talent.
