Islamic centre in Afghanistan unveiled
An Islamic complex, covering about 35,000 square metres and consisting of an Islamic school for the memorisation of the Quran, a mosque and an Eid prayer ground (Musalla), has been inaugurated in this city in Afghanistan.
Berawa: An Islamic complex, covering about 35,000 square metres and consisting of an Islamic school for the memorisation of the Quran, a mosque and an Eid prayer ground (Musalla), has been inaugurated in this city in Afghanistan.
The chairman of the UAE General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf, Hamdan Musallam Al Mazroui, inaugurated the more than Dh2 million complex built by the UAE in line with the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, under the personal follow-up of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The mosque, named the Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque, has a capacity of 1,500 worshippers. The inauguration ceremony attracted a large number of dignitaries from the UAE and Afghanistan.
