Entertainment: Diff to showcase Asia-Africa films

Twelve countries will be represented at the inaugural Muhr Asia Africa competition at this year's Dubai International Film Festival (Diff).

Twelve countries will be represented at the inaugural Muhr Asia Africa competition at this year's Dubai International Film Festival (Diff).

The event, which was introduced to encourage filmmaking in emerging markets, offers a selection of short films from Africa, Central Asia and the Far East. Nashen Moodley, Director of AsiaAfrica Programming for Diff, said: "Short films remain important because they are where a lot of filmmakers cut their teeth."

Muhr AsiaAfrica shorts will be screened in three separate programmes.
