Culture, science association gets new Dubai headquarters
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will inaugurateon Saturday the new headquarters of the Cultural and Scientific Association at Al Mamzar.

Bilal Al Budoor, secretary-general of the association, told Gulf News 396 PhD and Master Degree holders who won awards during the 19th edition of the Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence will receive their awards this evening in a special ceremony.
Another 459 UAE nationals holding PhD and masters degrees who excelled in the 20th edition will be awarded tomorrow.
Winners of the Al Owais Award for Scientific Studies and Creativity are also on the celebration's awards list, in a ceremony to take place on May 20.
Al Budoor said artistic shows, music shows, a free drawing workshop and fireworks are on the celebration list as well.
Al Budoor gave an overview of the association's organising units such as the committee for seminars, lectures and conferences; the committee for the library, printing and publishing; the committee for competitions and awards and the committee for cultural and media activities.
The association was founded in 1987 and its main objectives are to encourage talent in all cultural, literary and scientific fields, supporting the cultural movement and strengthening relations and cooperation between the association and other similar institutions.
