Ben Kingsley to attend special screening at Mideast film fest

Celebrated British actor, Sir Ben Kingsley will attend a special presentation screening of the award-winning film Gandhi at the Middle East International Film Festival (MEIFF) this year.

Abu Dhabi: Celebrated British actor, Sir Ben Kingsley will attend a special presentation screening of the award-winning film Gandhi at the Middle East International Film Festival (MEIFF) this year.

For the first time in the film's history it will be screened with Arabic dubbing on Saturday, October 11 at Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace.

Kingsley's intimate portrayal of the Indian political leader, which earned him an Academy award, is the actor's best known role.

Directed by Sir Richard Attenborough, Gandhi was a critical and box-office success when it made its worldwide debut in 1982.

The film clinched eight Oscars at the 1983 Academy Awards including ‘Best Picture', “Best Leading Actor' and ‘Best Director'.
