Al Kouni and Huda win Shaikh Zayed book awards

Ebrahim Al Kouni and Huda Al Shawa have been declared winners of the Shaikh Zayed Book Award in literature and children's categories respectively.

Abu Dhabi: Ebrahim Al Kouni and Huda Al Shawa have been declared winners of the Shaikh Zayed Book Award in literature and children's categories respectively.

Al Kouni, a Libyan living in Switzerland, won the Award for his novel Call for Far Away, while Huda, a Kuwaiti woman, was given the award for her book Birds Journey to Kaf Mountain.

The Abu Dhabi Authority established the Award in 2006 for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).

Each winner will receive Dh750,000 and a gold medal.
