Your complaint: Duplicate SIM issues

Reader has issues with SMS service

Last updated:

Mr Suresh P.K of Abu Dhabi says:

Complaint # 1:

I had purchased an iPhone 3GS, plan 1 from etisalat on February 20, 2010, which includes 500 MB of data, 125 free local call minutes and 125 free local SMS per month for the next 12 months for a monthly fee of Dh99.

However, I was charged for the local calls for the months of March and April. After my complaint on April 24, and numerous follow up calls, they stopped charging me for the local calls and sms.

However, I have yet to receive a credit for the amount they wrongly charged me in March and April.

Complaint # 2:-

On May 8, 2010, I had taken a duplicate SIM for my iPhone SIM under their Tawam offer, whereby I can use the second SIM card in my laptop for browsing the internet.

I was given two new SIM cards and my old one was deactivated immediately. I was told that the new SIM cards would be activated within an hour or two.

I started calling etisalat since my number was not active even after four hours of purchase. I had to call them numerous times in the next two days to at least get one of the SIM working.

However even after 42 days my duplicate card is still not working.

Mr Suresh updates:

Etisalat had called and solved the issue with my Tawam SIM card. Now I can access data through that SIM. The second issue of crediting the money wrongly charged for the months of March and April is still unresolved.

Editor's note:

The complaint was sent to the management of etisalat. However, despite repeated reminders they failed to respond.
