No go

I got a new First Gulf Bank (FGB) credit card and the sales person told me it’s free for life and no charges would be faced until I activate the card.

Now I don’t know why the bank charged Dh300 for insurance before activating the credit card — and the card is not free for life. I checked with their customer care and they told me it’s not free for life. The bank told me they reached me over phone and I only confirmed the order to activate the insurance. If so, I asked them to provide my voice records of me confirming this information, but they are not willing to do so.

I checked with FGB regarding this matter twice but they are giving me the same answer — that I activated the service over the phone. I am ready to accept this, but they have to give me proof and they are not ready to do that. Kindly ask them to repay the Dh300 that I paid to them — the only reason I did so was because they started charging interest for that amount.

Kindly do something as I recently came to know that Gulf News helps sort out such issues.
