Paying the price

I have a credit card from Union National Bank (UNB) and took an easy payment interest-free plan for three months. The monthly instalment was about Dh1,766.67. I paid Dh1,770 in the first month. In the second month, I paid Dh1,766 — Dh0.66 less than the expected amount and they charged me Dh150 for late payment, with finance charges of Dh15!

When I called their call centre, they took 15 days to investigate the matter and refused to reverse the charges.

I told them I paid Dh2 more during the first month, but they refused to listen to reason and closed my complaint without calling me. I request Gulf News to take this matter to them.

Editor’s note: The complaint was forwarded to Union National Bank for comments. However, its management did not respond.

Mr Bisht updates:

Thanks a lot for your help, as I have received a call from UNB’s contact centre. They finally understood the issue and are reversing my charges.
