Signboards posted around the city should be checked for accuracy and grammar, according to Gulf News reader Nigel Alexander. Image Credit: Nigel Alexander/Gulf News reader

I would like to highlight a strange sign that I came across recently — it is quite a contrast to what people would actually want to see.

Having been born and brought up in Dubai, the one thing I used to constantly see on garbage trucks and bins was the sign: "Keep Dubai City Clean".

I love this slogan because it makes us proud that everyone is trying to keep the city clean.

But I don't think this is the case for people who have seen this particular sign at the exit of the pedestrian bridge in front of the Union Metro Station.

My aim is to get the attention of the relevant authorities — I hope they check all signs before [putting them up]!
