  • Large trucks are taking over a residential compound in Dubai according to Gulf News reader Santosh George. He urged the authorities to look into the situation "for the safety of families and children living in this area".

The Samari residential compound located in Ras Al Khor area, Dubai, currently houses about 1,000 families.

Now, many of these families fear being crushed by the hundreds of heavily loaded trucks that are illegally parked around this beautiful compound.

Schoolbuses carrying children, private cars with families and all others who want to enter or exit this compound have to face this horrendous situation.

They are forced to dodge trucks on uneven mud paths, since a stable tar road is missing.

The developers should take this matter very seriously and work along with the authorities concerned for the safety of families and children living in this area.

I have visited the neighbourhood as I was scouting for a home there, but I was discouraged by the situation. The question I kept asking myself is: "Do I need to witness a death one morning?" I am sure there are many people like me who may have taken a step back because of this risk factor.

I hope the relevant authorities will take the necessary action at the earliest.

I too sent mail to the concerned authorities but till date noting has changed we are forced to live with the situation. i missed a trailer & a car literally on a friday morning with the co drivers yelling regardless my kid who got hurt in the backseat due to sudden braking because the trailer driver didnt see my car heading towards the entry & the accompanying car with trailer accomplies started yelling as if i m in fault because they were directing the driver like policemens. They park the container remove the registration plate & along with engine park it in some other place so no question of fines. because wasl says it s rta & rta says its dubai police so we literally dont know who it is who will get rid of this problem THANKS

I think half these issues are left unresolved because people are too scared out of their skins to even mention their names let alone fight for their rights. Most of these smart people here wish to be 'Anonymous' but still want to be heard. Unbelievable.

I am a resident at Samari and its a lovely place but the road to get to Samari is horendous. Its a rollercoaster ride to get into the Samari Gates. we have placed several complains about this issues to various authorities and we received no response. Thank you Gulf news for bring this issue into light.

I also live in Samari Residences in Ras Al Khor. I have constantly been calling Wasl to report the condition of the muddy patch of road leading to the entrance of the community but was told that RTA is responsible for the same. On calling RTA they mentioned that they have already taken a look and Wasl is responsible for laying the road. I like many others have been following up with both Wasl and the RTA for the last 6 + months. The trucks and the heavy vehicles sure are a threat especially now that majority of the apartments at Samari Residences are occupied. I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Santhosh George as his efforts have worked the magic and there sure is progress. The muddy patch is being rectified and looks like a road is soon to be laid, there is no sign of lorries or heavy vehicles for the last 3-4 days, the road leading out of the muddy patch have been marked.

Great that this issue has been raised. We are also living in Samari Residence but the area is so dirty, all thanks to the heavy vehicles which are dominating there. True pedestrians have no path to walk. Its all muddy area with no lights at night. I can relate to one of the incidents where I purchased a brand new car and the very next week it got punctured due to some pointed stuff on that uneven rough & muddy road. Who is to be blamed? Ultimately it was an added expense to our pockets. We can only hope that our requests including thousands of families are given a thought as it is a serious concern for families with children staying there.

Thanks Gulf News for focusing on this issue.

The relevant authorities have closed their eyes and ears to the Samari Residence an almost 2K flats as community living for families with no proper road approach, street lights and pedestrian pathways. The issues relating to heavy vehicles unauthorized parking and movement in and around the compound causes lot of safety concerns to the families staying there. Being a tenant at Samari these concerns were raised to RTA with no outcomes.

Although we stay in beautiful Samari compound we are definately facing this problem. I am daily walking through the mud path in evening without street lights. Pedestrians have no path to walk, no safety, hugh trucks parked in the mud parth at the sides of the road. Concreat road with a separate entry for parking heavy vehical is definately required.

I live in Samari Residences in Ras Al Khor. Its a beautiful community and the premises are taken care of well. The only problem in the area is the trucks parked all around the place. Most of these are 12-18 wheelers carrying heavy load. The have no business there and I think most of them are either just carelessly parked there by the drivers or dumped there by the company that owns them just because they don't have parking space. Not only is it a major safety hazard, but the whole place looks like the ignored outskirts. I hope they do something to resolve this.

Have seen it myself.A very difficult situation for residents, especially at night To add to the safety issue raised by the reader, the plight of the 'mud path' is also becoming pathetic making it difficult for residents to maneuver.Pray that the authorities do something about it soon or otherwise we could soon see an accident coming.
