My brother, Mohammad, and I are planning on joining Cycling4Gaza — a Welfare Association initiative — to cycle 350km across Greece from October 19-23, 2011. The 350-km fundraising challenge commencing in Olympia and finishing in Athens will bring together more than 35 cyclists from all over the world!

Like every other humanitarian around the world, our hopes are simple and straight-forward. We're aiming to get social support from the people around us in our community, especially as our cause is purely humanitarian — for the children of Gaza.

In addition to that, we want the community to be more aware of the situation Gaza has been exposed to and currently going through as a result of the ongoing blockade.

As people living in a safe, peaceful country we should still show the people of Gaza all the support we can give them.

Nowadays, people, especially the younger generation, are increasingly community-friendly and socially aware of what is happening in the world, which is very motivating to us.

Knowing that we are both in our twenties will keep us focused on what we are planning to do in October, and it will hopefully lead us to future participation in other projects.
