I want to raise awareness about an issue that isn’t much talked about. The relevant authorities have published many statements about how they wish to ensure the safety of motorcyclists. But, I think many of these riders are least bothered about “disciplined” driving.

I’ve seen them driving over pavements, not stopping at pedestrian crossings, going over barriers and the most common one is cutting a queue of traffic to reach ahead of the line at a traffic signal (as seen in the photograph).

It is quite annoying when they drive through the gaps in traffic and stop so close to another motorist’s vehicle. They never drive within the marked lanes, but instead are always seen driving on the lane markings so as to get an advantage. As the traffic signal turns green, they try to regain their balance, dangerously wobbling on their motorcycles all the while, and then zoom through.

I’ve had numerous close calls. One day, one of the motorcyclists almost fell in front of my vehicle! They don’t seem to realise how dangerous this practice is. In their hurry, they’re putting their own lives at risk.

I think the authorities need to take action to teach these people some respect because one fall or misjudgment can cause them to be in a really bad situation.
