Missing box covers pose danger
Contractors have failed to replace the tiles after maintenance work and authorities are yet to rectify the omission

For several months I have been watching the negligence of some contractors, which may cause serious injury to the public. Here you can see the picture of a street light's open pull box on Street 18, Sector 25, Zone 206 of ME-11 Musaffah in Abu Dhabi.
On this street you can find about five to ten similar boxes which have been left open for the past year and are now filled with rubbish. Some maintenance contractors opened these pull box covers while doing maintenance work by removing the pavement tiles. Once finished they put down rubberised asphalt to replace the tile, but left the covers open. I am surprised the authorities concerned have not inspected these problems and issued instructions to have suitable covers placed on these boxes.
