As a resident of 17B street in Jumeirah 1, my home is behind a large furniture store and faces a mall. I have noticed that the whole street in this area is very dark, when compared to surrounding areas.
When we walk to the nearby supermarket, at times, it is hard to recognise even the people walking right in front of you.
Also, while driving, I have seen far too many workers on their bicycles trying to cross the street, which is unsafe for them as a car could easily hit them.
Simple tasks like trying to stop a taxi at night have become both difficult and frustrating.
We need to increase the number of streetlights in this area to prevent accidents. I would appreciate if the authorities could help us in resolving this issue.
