I want to direct the attention of the authorities to an issue in my area. I live in the Muwaileh area in Sharjah, close to the National Paints roundabout. People are forced to perform their prayers under the scorching sun. Additionally, there is no proper arrangement for ablution.

Around a month ago, a shelter around 15 metres away from this place (pictured) was removed by the authorities. Since then, I have seen people praying in this area without any shade. Even during Fajr, the morning prayer, I have seen people praying in the open. It is hard to see how they pray here with temperatures as high as 50 degrees Celsius.

I would like to raise this issue with the concerned authorities so that it is resolved soon, especially because Ramadan is upon us.

I lived in muweillah area since 8 years there are several issues which need to discuss i sent several emails but no action has been taken 1- there is no park for children 2- every year there is a road construction which make muweilla area life miserable ... we understand that it is for betterment of people but why every year why not once at all. 3- there is a one mosque near by my apartment in shops during Ramdan due to the rush you wont get space becz it is very small there is no proper mosque near by. .... 4- Traffic always gets jam because there is no yellow line when some one had an accident he blocked one lane which cause serious jam. .....

I am resident of a building in Al Nahda, Sharjah. We don’t have any praying facility in our building or area. The nearest Majid is in Dubai, which is 1 kilometer away, so I have to walk in this heat, which is very difficult in summer... Its Ramadan now and we cannot hear azaan.

There are two Masjids in the Muwaileh area. 1) Emirates Road 2) University city road This picture is taken from a construction site inside the Muwaileh Camp. Totally Misleading.

Dear Mr. Syed, It may be true that for some reason the shelter was removed and I think the Government and the individuals of Sharjah are very concerned with providing adequate praying facilities (Masjids) across the emirate primarily and then in other countries. Having a record of more than 1,000 Minarets in 2014 and being awarded the Capital of Islamic Culture wouldn't allow it to "Force" people to pray in the sun! Please count the number of Masjids in Mowaileh Area in particular and let's be more fair when it comes to spreading such misleading information. People can choose to pray anywhere they want. Thank you.
