Dubai

A lot of animal rescue groups in the UAE host adoption days on a regular basis around the country. For a lot of animal lovers, these events are the place where they meet the pet they can call their own.

Sharjah Cats and Dogs Shelter (SCADS) is amongst these groups and the organisation regularly hosts an adoption day for cats and dogs at the Dubai Creatures Oasis Pet Shop in Jumeirah, Dubai. These events usually occur on a weekend, so as to attract a large number of people who are interested in adopting a loving pet. There are many stray and abandoned kittens, cats and rescued dogs waiting for a loving home.

Gulf News decided to follow the journey of some pets who were finally introduced to their loving families. The first part of the pet adoption series, published on October 18, 2014, followed a family attending a cat adoption day and bringing a grey kitten, called Mozart, home.

This week, we highlight the story of Foxy, a canine who was up for adoption. She was adopted by Robert and Arlene Davidson.

Robert told Gulf News: “Foxy is now a part of the family. Just like how I wouldn’t leave my children, Holly and Struan, when finally returning to Scotland, Foxy would not be left behind and would be going with us as well.”

After having spent two weeks in her new home in Al Barsha area, in Dubai, Foxy surely proved one thing — a dog is indeed a man’s best friend.

Watch the video on gulfnews.com to find out how Davidson’s family is so fond of Foxy.
