All-Emirati squad to face Afghanistan

Exhibition matches part of plan to strengthen game at grassroots level

Dubai : UAE Rugby has announced the all-Emirati ‘Shaheen' squad that will play Afghanistan in three seven-a-side developmental games tomorrow at The Sevens ground.

The three games will be played at 3pm, 5.15pm and 7.30pm, leading into the main Asian Five Nations clash between the UAE and Hong Kong at 8pm.

Supported by the International Rugby Board and Asian Rugby Football Union, the sevens games are integral in developing each country's indigenous rugby talent from grass roots ‘touch and tag', to sevens and finally to XVs representative rugby.

The Shaheen squad:

Saood Al Jawali, Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Mohammad Hassan, Mohannad Shaker, Yousuf Shaker, Hassan Al Noobi, Cyrus Humayon, Bassam Azqami, Ali Mohammad Gulam, Mohammad Alawi, Hassan Jovani.
