Street lights off in Sharjah area at night
Reader is concerned about the motorists’ safety as the street lights are off during the night.
Gulf News reader Harshith Belagur captured this shot in the Al Majaz 3 area, Sharjah. He said: “A few days ago, I was surprised to see the street lights switched off during the night. This is not just the case in the night time, but also during early morning hours. Even if this is being done to save electricity, it should not come at the risk of endangering the lives of motorists. I request the concerned authorities to keep the lights switched on during the night as many motorists use this road to commute and their safety is important.”
