Abu Dhabi: An Abu Dhabi hotel has come up with two new eco-tours that promise a wonderful initiation to the capital’s flora and fauna.
Launched by Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, the tours that show the enchanting beauty of Abu Dhabi’s coast. “We are organising two eco tours – the mangrove eco boat tour and the dolphin bay eco boat tour. Both give visitors a brand new perspective of Abu Dhabi, away from all the buzz and noise of the city,” said Arabella Willing, the hotel;s in-house biologist.
Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi has tied up with Capt.Tony’s, a boat tour and events operator in the city for the bi-weekly tours.
The mangrove eco boat tour lasts an hour and a half, while the ‘dolphin bay eco boat tour takes around three hours. The mangrove tour can be taken on Tuesdays from 9 to 10.30am while the dolphin tour can be done on Saturdays from 10am.
LOVELY SIGHTS
Mangrove forests, dolphins, crabs, fish and a variety of eco-systems living beneath crystal clear waters are some things that visitors see along the way.
“Abu Dhabi’s mangrove forests are one of the most productive eco-systems in the UAE. They are also home to a wide variety of animals such as birds, fish, crabs, molluscs and dolphins. The whole idea of launching this new eco tour is to give visitors a new perspective of Abu Dhabi, away from the usual touristic spots that the city offers. The view is simply breathtaking,” she said.
Arabella has an added motivation to go on tour. “I am collecting data on the local dolphin population for the UAE dolphin project – headed by Ada Natoli and the dolphin tour is just perfect for me.”
The mangrove eco boat tour costs Dh400 per person for an adult and Dh250 per child between 6 and 12. Children 5 years and under take the ride free.
The dolphin bay eco boat tour costs Dh600 per adult and Dh400 per child ages 6 to 12. The ride is free for children 5 years and younger.
