Wehbe's run of bad luck

The Lebanese star Haifa Wehbe seems to be dogged by bad luck on set. Two years ago she was in a plane accident while shooting one of her music videos directed by Yehia Saade.

In her latest accident, a week ago, Wehbe fell from a window on the set of the Egyptian movie Dikan Shahata (Shahata's Grocery).

Wehbe was filming a scene in which she quarrels with co-star Omr Abdeljalil when she fell, landing on the ground a few metres down. Luckily, the actress managed to get up and laugh over the incident.

Wehbe will hope to avoid misfortune when she goes on set to shoot a music video with the MTV Award-winner Karl Wolf.

The two Lebanese artists have already recorded a duet, with Haifa singing in Arabic and Wolf in English.

Phedra in spotlight

The Egyptian artist Phedra has avoided the spotlight for two years, but now she's getting back into the swing of things with two different projects. Phedra just finished shooting the movie Haflet Mott (Death Party).

In the movie, directed by Ahmad Yusri, she co-stars with the Lebanese singer Iwan, as well as the Egyptian artists Mohammad Riad, Heidi Karam and Iyad Nassar.

Phedra plays two different characters in the film scheduled to be in theatres over the Adha holidays next month. On the other project Phedra dons her director's hat to tackle Mohammad Mehey's new music video.

The song is entitled Mazloum (Victim of Injustice) and should be screened on regional TV channels soon.
