Dubai: Alternative band Yano are coming to the UAE for a series of shows in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. This is the first time they will perform in the UAE.
The group, led by founder and songwriter Eric Gancio, will take the stage at KitaKits Kafe & Klubb at Marco Polo Hotel in Dubai on March 14 and 15. The group will then head to Ras Al Khaimah for a two-night performance on the 19th and 21st.
Gancio will be joined by sessionists brothers Ronald and Samuel Madarang on drums and guitars.
Organisers promised that fans who have penchant for '90s music will find this show both nostalgic and entertaining.
The group has had a turbulent past, disbanding in 1997 with the departure of vocalist Dong Abay. In 2007, Gancio revived Yano as a one-man band, with back-up musicians.
Yano's fourth album Tala (star) was released last year. The founder, Gancio, is currently based in Davao where he set up his own recording studio.
