Abu Dhabi: The World Orchestra for Peace under the direction of Maestro Valery Gergiev, will perform at the Emirates Palace Hotel on January 4.
The performance will see musicians from 30 countries and more than 62 international orchestras performing for the first time in the Middle East.
The Orchestra's world-acclaimed conductor, Gergiev, will lead the orchestra through a programme of popular classics including Rossini's William Tell Overture, Prolofiev's Symphony No 1 and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No 5 during the performance.
Formed in 1995 by the late Sir Georg Solti, the Orchestra comes together only on special occasions to promote peace or celebrate reconstruction, to highlight its efforts. Unesco recently designated it as a Unesco Artist for Peace, the first orchestra to receive the title.
