This one’s worth screaming and shouting about: Singer-songwriter will.i.am, who performed with his band in Dubai almost 10 years ago, is coming back to town. The Black Eyed Peas founder will be joined by producer and rapper Timbaland as they headline a new music trade show called Dubai Music Week at the Dubai World Trade Centre on September 26.

The event, presented by musical legend Quincy Jones, will “target music fans and the music industry in the region”, said organisers. In addition to the headlining stars, it will feature a series of seminars hosted by celebrities and conferences in association with Midem, one of the biggest international business events for music held annually in Cannes, France.

will.i.am is undoubtedly one of the hottest producers and musical entrepreneurs right now, with his latest hit single ‘Scream & Shout’ featuring Britney Spears still high on the charts. Timbaland’s latest projects include producing Justin Timberlake’s ‘The 20-20 Experience’ and Jay-Z’s most recent album, ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’, both of which have been huge successes.

Organisers said more headlining acts would be announced later, with tickets to the event going on sale soon on dubaimusicweek.com
