Live music fiends of Dubai: you have a new place to hang out. Last month, Muze opened its doors downtown, providing more than the UAE-typical DJ-only experience.

“The concept for Muze is simple: live musical acts by a thrilling roster of musicians, from Latino to English, French and Arabic, combining a lively atmosphere with quality entertainment and Mexican fusion food brought by Loca Restaurant,” CEO Mazin Al Zein told tabloid!.

Here’s what he said you can expect when you walk through the doors.

Where did the name Muze come from?

Muze stands for what inspires musicians to produce music that become institutional and legendary.

How does the Muze experience distinguish itself from other spots in Dubai?

Muze’s eclectic boutique interior and unique entertainment offering sets it apart from other live music spots in Dubai. The location of the venue, at Souk Al Bahar, Downtown Dubai, is also key as it’s easily accessible to residents as well as tourists.

Can you tell us about the design and interior?

The interior is inspired by the diverse feel derived from different musical styles, with a live stage that is the focal point of the venue, surrounded by plush, welcoming and colourful lounges.

What is the capacity of the club?

The club seats 160 people for a seated dinner and up to 300 guests, including [at] the bar and high tables.

What kind of music can people expect?

A resident Cuban Band called Son de Verdad, led by Lamora (aka Madeleine), with a highly energetic onstage presence, in addition to a resident DJ that plays old-school dance tracks that bring us back to the lyrical ages of 80’s from all around the world, followed by a rotation of Lebanese singers with an English and French flair and an Arabic band that sings Tarab songs. It’s a festival of funk and folk beats.

Is there anything else we need to know?

In addition to the kitchen by Loca, we have added the Latin flair to Muze’s wide range of exotic cocktails, all of which have been inspired by Cuba — the capital of the mixed drink, prepared by one of the best mixologists in town. Dress code is smart casual. Muze is also available for hire throughout the week for private functions including weddings, corporate entertainment, product launches and other events.

Can you describe the ideal Muze client?

A “Muzee” is someone who is musically oriented, stimulated by live music and a seeker of a novelty experience.
