Alexandre Desplat, who won his first Oscar this year, will receive the BMI Icon Award next month.
The French composer will be honoured at the 2015 Film & Television Awards on May 13 in Beverly Hills, California, Broadcast Music Inc. announced Wednesday. Desplat won the Academy Award for best original score for The Grand Budapest Hotel in February.
Desplat, a Golden Globe winner and Grammy nominee, has also scored movies like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The King’s Speech and Argo.
The BMI event will also honour Walt Disney Music President Chris Montan with the classic contribution award for his three-decade career at Disney.
