Yasalam’s Emerging Talent Competition (ETC) announced their judging panel on Monday.
Olly Wood, of homegrown EDM duo Hollaphonic, Reiner Erlings, a multi-instrumentalist and composer, and Bill Bragin, the executive artistic director at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), are tasked with choosing a winner.
As part of the battle, local musicians will go up against each other for a chance to perform a headlining set at Beats on the Beach in November.
In previous years, Rita Ora, J. Cole, Tove Lo and Miguel have also played the free music festival at Abu Dhabi Corniche.
“In its second year, the Emerging Talent Competition offers the UAE’s emerging talent a direct and live platform to audiences across the region — this year we take yet another step further in our music evolution,” said John Lickrish, CEO of Flash Entertainment.
Hopefuls can submit entries — music recordings, videos and answers to a questionnaire — on yasalam.ae for consideration until September 24. As well as performing at Beats, the winner will be awarded a year-long residency at The Village in du Arena.
