Alicia Keys’ upcoming Dubai concert on November 15 just got bigger – because she’s not the only one coming back to the UAE. R&B sensation Jason Derulo, who performed in the city last year, will join Keys as a special guest at the 14,000 capacity Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, organisers have announced.

The 23-year-old Ridin’ Solo singer’s Dubai performance in November last year was a triumphant return of sorts, following an almost-fatal accident during rehearsals earlier in the year. Derulo fractured a vertebrae in his neck, which almost ended up paralysing him.

“It’s a crazy feeling. Coming back, it’s been about a year-and-a-half since people have seen me on the scene because of my injury. To be received so well when I’m coming back is really something special,” he said in a statement sent out by organisers Done Events.

Since his Number 1 2009 debut with Whatcha Say, Derulo has sold more than 25 million tracks worldwide with a string of hits including Don’t Wanna Go Home, In My Head and It Girl. His latest single The Other Side marks his sixth Billboard Top 10 single.
