James Reid and Nadine Lustre rocked Al Nasr Leisureland amid thousands of screaming fans at their JaDine in Love: The World Tour concert on Saturday night.

Fans young and old didn’t mind the long queues that started to swell early in the afternoon as they seemed to know the jam-packed concert wasn’t going to disappoint. The atmosphere was so charged... I have to admit it was my first time witnessing a Filipino concert in Dubai with such energy and intensity. Fans screamed, others even cried as they sang and danced along with the couple that has become one of the hottest items in Philippine showbiz today.

Reid and Lustre got the crowd up on their feet from the get-go with electrifying renditions of We Found Love, Forever and Marvin Gaye. From there, the energy level just kept rising. It was also obvious that the couple was deeply in love with each other — the on-stage and real-life chemistry thrilled fans even more.

To the delight of fans, the duo also sang a medley of love songs such as Can We Just Stop and Talk a While, It Might Be You and the beautiful mash up of Ikaw during which Lustre gave an emotional speech to her boyfriend. “Look how far we’ve come,” she said. “I know we will have more journeys together. Thank you for being an amazing boyfriend.”

Aside from performing together, Reid and Lustre had their individual segments at the concert. Lustre performed one of her popular songs, Para-Paraan, Jennifer Lopez’s Get Right, and Kanlungan, which she dedicated to her grandmother who died last year.

She also performed with guest performer, pop-rock singer Yeng Constantino, on renditions of Your Love, Torete and Pangako.

Reid performed one of his hit songs, Huwag Ka Ng Humirit, his own version of Michael Jackson’s Rock With You and Love Never Felt So Good and OPM songs Buko and Tadhana.

A self-confessed Belieber, Reid didn’t miss the chance to perform Justin Beiber’s Love Yourself, What Do You Mean? and Sorry. He also showed his dancing skills with Dessert, Watch Me Whip (Nae Nae) and Twerk It Like Miley.

My favourite part of the show was the lyrical dance to spoken word poetry and songs such as Stay With Me, All Of Me and Love Me Like You Do. As Reid and Lustre danced, they showed that they can not only sing and act, but are all-around performers.

Guest R ‘n’ B artist Jay R performed Say You’ll Never Go from Reid and Lustre’s recently concluded hit soap opera, On The Wings Of Love. The show, of course, wouldn’t have been complete without Reid and Lustre’s own rendition of On The Wings of Love.

The power duo, who thanked fans all night for their fans’ support, ended the show with their own hit songs, No Erase and Bahala Na.

With guest performers Constantino and Jay R, the superb G-Force dance crew and great visual effects, the concert was well worth it. And it definitely proved that Reid and Lustre can rise to a much higher level as all-round artists.
