Florence + the Machine and Kendrick Lamar are to share a bill in London’s Hyde Park next summer. Florence + the Machine are to headline the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time festival on July 2, with Lamar playing before her.

Jamie xx and Blood Orange are also on the bill.

Florence + the Machine have reached No 1 with each of their three LPs, most recently this year’s How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. In addition, they took the headline slot on the Friday of this year’s Glastonbury festival, after Foo Fighters were forced to withdraw owing to Dave Grohl’s broken leg.

Lamar’s last album, To Pimp a Butterfly, topped the charts in both the US and the UK earlier this year, as well as winning near-universal critical acclaim for its musical adventurousness and for lyrics addressing black identity in the US.

Tickets go on general sale at 9am, December 4, priced from £59.50 (Dh328).
