After 12 years of operation, The Music Room — one of the most popular spots for UAE-based musicians to perform — will close down.

The 700-capacity venue, located in the Majestic Hotel Tower, will shut its doors on September 30. It opened in 2005 and hosted several regional and international events.

“We are proud of what we achieved, we built a stage together from scratch and it quickly became a melting pot for awesome live performances from around the globe,” said Alex and Fay Economides of M Management Company, who are behind the brand.

“In the last 4.5 years I hosted more than 240 shows and you can see throughout the years how it evolved and simply rediscovered local talent, it was an open house for new gigs and music legends,” said general manager Carlo Javakhia.

The venue will host Mantra on September 15, Regan - Nano Records on September 28 and Kalmah on September 29. Their final announced show is Oktoberfest Reggae Explosion on September 30.
