When you turn 80, the birthday celebrations rarely wrap up with just one party.
For Asha Bhosle, who turned 80 this September, the party is still going on.
The legendary singer will perform live at a concert in Dubai on December 13 at Shaikh Rashid Hall at Dubai World Trade Centre. What’s more: she intends to insert anecdotes in between songs giving you a glimpse of her eventful career spanning six decades.
“The event is conceptualised as an unplugged musical dialogue with the diva,” said organiser Anita Shah, CEO and managing director of Ccreans Communication.
Bhosle has recorded more than 12,000 songs in her career, which began in 1943. Over six decades, the award-winning singer has sung in several Indian languages spanning classical, semi-classical and pop. Her hits include Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko, Aaja Aaja and Dil To Pagal Hai. She has also collaborated with Western singers such as Boy George and boy band Code Red.
