One of the world’s most beloved tenors, Andrea Bocelli, will make his UAE return when he kicks off his Cinema World Tour in Abu Dhabi on April 22 at the du Arena on Yas Island.
The tour, off the classical music icon’s 15th album, will see him perform a collection of movie songs from films such as Doctor Zhivago, Love Story, The Godfather, Life is Beautiful, Gladiator, The Postman and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
“With the album Cinema, I’m fulfilling a wish that I’ve harboured for decades. I’ve never made a secret of my dream of bringing to life a recording project associated with soundtracks, as I truly believe that it’s an exceptional artistic treasure trove,” said Bocelli in a release.
The Grammy-nominated Italian singer has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide and is known for his duets with singers such as Sarah Brightman (Time to Say Goodbye), Celine Dion (The Prayer) and, most recently, Ariana Grande (E Piu Ti Penso).
Bocelli last performed in the UAE in Abu Dhabi in 2013. His return performance will be a fully seated open-air concert. Tickets, starting at Dh395, will go on sale at 12pm on Wednesday, March 2, on ticketmaster.ae and all Virgin Megastores in the UAE.
