The Broadway-style, Bollywood-themed musical at Bollywood Parks Dubai will be named Jaan-e-Jigar and launch on December 1, the park announced on Thursday.

The Bollywood Parks Dubai theme park — part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, an upcoming theme park destination located between Dubai and Abu Dhabi — will open on November 15.

Jaan-e-Jigar is a separately ticketed musical.

The two-hour ‘extravaganza’ will explore good vs. evil through a tale of two brothers, Jaan and Jigar, set to a soundtrack of Bollywood hits and an original score created for the show.

Hundreds of actors, dancers, singers and acrobats from across India auditioned to be part of it.

“We are very proud to bring the first Broadway-style Bollywood musical to the Middle East, and what better place to showcase it other than our star attraction — the Rajmahal Theatre,” said Thomas Jellum, general manager of Bollywood Parks Dubai.

The Rajmahal Theatre seats 850 audience members, and is modelled after palaces and intricate architectural designs in India. The musical will take place several times a week. Ticket details have not yet been announced.

“As the region’s first resident show, we have partnered with the best in Bollywood show business, to ensure every element seen on stage embodies the cinematic experience,” added Jellum.

Dubai Parks and Resorts, located near Jebel Ali, will also feature Motiongate, a Hollywood theme park, Legoland Dubai and Legoland Water Park, and Riverland, a retail, food and beverage destination.

Legoland Dubai and Riverland open on October 31, while Motiongate will open on December 16.

Bollywood Parks Dubai will include five zones: Bollywood Boulevard, Mumbai Chowk, Rustic Ravine, Royal Plaza and Bollywood Film Studios featuring Hall of Heroes. Attractions and live shows will be inspired by films such as Rock On!!, Don, Lagaan, Sholay, Dabangg, Mughal-e-Azam, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, RA.One and Krrish.
