This is the ninth week the GT-R has been with us. And by us, I mean Amit.

I haven't even been allowed to stick my head into one of the mammoth exhausts to see what the insides look like, let alone take it for a spin.

But graciously, Amit did take me for a drive the other day. (Gosh, thanks!)

Immediately (and not at all out of spite). I started dissing ‘his' GT-R's cabin. The sunvisors look like they came out of a Tiida, as does the headliner, the centre console panel, most of the switches on it, as well as some pieces running above the transmission column. (Yes, I know it's not really the transmission column, since the GT-R has a transaxle, but whatever.)

This merely run-in nine-thousand-kilometre example even shows signs of falling apart already. The door grab-handle's surround is edging away from the actual grab-handle, but to be fair, given the sort of rides passengers are taken on in this GT-R, it most likely sees a lot of panic-stricken use. Let's see how long they last.

Amit blames Fernando Alonso. Allow me to explain: the two-time F1 world champ must've abused this car when he used it as his courtesy ride during his time in Bahrain last year. That's what Amit will tell you anyway.

Also, we've just given F96930 back to Nissan for the weekend, as they need it at Yas Marina for the opening round of the GT1 championship. Thank goodness Alonso's in China right now.
