The big, bad cat is out of its cage again, snarling and growling and resonating all around the Eifel mountain, lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife in anger. These are the latest spy images sent to us from Germany of the upcoming Jaguar XFR-S, and although we’ve seen it on numerous occasions this year already, this time it’s sporting a bigger rear wing for more downforce through the Fuchsröhre section, obviously.

It’s a pretty huge fixed rear spoiler for a stately saloon like the XF, shunning the favoured but clumsy-looking automatic pop-up spoilers so popular today. Up ahead underneath the vented bonnet is Jag’s beefedup version of its supercharged 5.0-litre V8, expected to produce something in the region of 550bhp in order to challenge the turbocharged new monsters from Germany.
