Pontiac may have been confined to the history books but aftermarket tuners have been doing their best to recreate models of the legendary brand. We’ve seen some great efforts, such as the Trans Am by Lingenfelter which was based on the fifth generation Camaro. Now, Tauro Sport Auto, a Spanish tuning firm, have supped-up the Pontiac Solstice.

The roadster was already a decent looker but it lacked guts. The four-cylinder under the curvy bonnet just didn’t cut it. But now, it’s been given a new lease of life (not to mention a massive shot of adrenaline) thanks to a huge 6.2-litre V8 LS3 Corvette engine! The Solstice, now called the V8 Spider, produces 440bhp but should customers want more grunt, Tauro can tune it to a whopping 650bhp. It packs new cylinder heads and a supercharger but can that chassis handle all the power? Don’t know, but, we’d love to try it! The interior remains unchanged but the exterior has received an extensive makeover. The look is far more aggressive than that of the original Poncho and one thing is for sure, we absolutely dig it.
