Let's start with the biggest news first and that is both the LR4 and Range Rover Sport will be available with a new ZF eight-speed automatic tranny mated to a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 making 256bhp. Not your cup of tea? No worries, for the V8 remains unchanged, sticking to the six-speed auto to produce 510bhp.

There are upgrades to the interior too, the best of which is the brand new seven inch touchscreen with for the first time, Dual View. This means the driver can follow the sat-nav without interrupting his lazy passengers from their TV shows or DVDs. And as for the people sitting in the, well they’ll be oblivious to anything going on when they put their wireless WhiteFire headphones on. That’s good news for the rest of the passengers as they don’t have to put up with any rubbish house or techno blasting out of the new 17-speaker Harmon Kardon stereo.

You can expect a rather large price tag for both the 2012 Range Rover Sport and 2012 LR4 but as always, they’ll be worth the money.
