Watch out Tesla, here’s some scary competition from, er, Croatia. Hang on, before you laugh it off, just glance at the figures provided by Rimac Automobili ahead of Tuesday's Frankfurt reveal of its Concept One electric hypercar. If you asked Rimac who, you’re not alone.  But the company has dabbled with high performance electric cars before, like a converted electric 1986 E30 3 Series that did a quartermile in just 12 seconds.

It’s battery-powered alright, the four independent motors powering the four corners makes a stupendous 1,088bhp and an unbelievable 3,796Nm of neck-snappingly instant torque that hurtles the car from 0-100kph in just 2.8sec and then on to an electronically limited top speed of 305kph.

From what we hear, it looks fittingly gorgeous as well. We’ll give you the official pics once they’re out on Tuesday.
