Although German tuner IMSA is best known for its custom Lamborghinis, it had a Mercedes connection before its Lambo days, having represented Merc specialist Kleemann for a while.

IMSA’s take on the Merc flagship saloon is a rather comprehensive overhaul that includes both cosmetic and performance enhancements.

The appearance package includes an aero kit that
adds front lip spoilers, new side skirts and a rear diffuser, all made of carbon fibre. It also gets bespoke exhaust pipes machined from solid block of aircraft-grade aluminium, as well as 21in forged light alloy wheels.

The biggest change though is under the bonnet, where the 5.5-litre biturbo V8’s stock 585bhp output has been dramatically boosted to a whopping 720bhp, while the peak torque has been upped from 900Nm to 1,080Nm.
